Nice looking site so far. Sorry to hear you were having trouble with PHPNuke, glad to hear you like Xoops. I like it too (even though it has crashed on me three times, because I fiddle with it too much and jumped in using the "beta" versions instead of the most stable).
I caution you though about "burning bridges" - there may come a day of frustation with XOOPS when you wish you could go back to Nuke, however you've already dissed their support over there.. What kinda relationship are you expecting from your new buds? By that I mean, whats going to happen if you suddenly have problems with XOOPS and nobody jumps right in and helps you? Are ya gonna bail out of XOOPS too?
Ps: Many of the modules for XOOPS are ported over PHPnuke materials.. Are you just bagging up your troubles and bringing them over here to be repaired? What EXACTLY made you switch portals?
Of course your reasons are your own, that was really a rhetorical question.

PHPNuke has a far bigger community then XOOPS, and many many times the modules available. But I stake my reputation that in stability and flexibility, XOOPS beats the cr*p out of most PHPNuke powered sites

Postnote: I've created an account and have the following suggestions.
1. Your forum didn't have a suggestion category so I didn't want to post Off Topics there. Maybe put one up for your site users.
2. Suggestion to set your table width 80% or 90% rather than fixed for 800. Most of your members are hard core flight simmers. Non of them will be on 800x600 screen LOL. At the moment it looked cramped especially the forums.
3. I love google ads, but your top banner calls for a really awesome graphic. Maybe two F16s taking off from LAX in formation?

4. and lastly, just my opinion, the poll probably be better below the news. Because I've voted and the home page keep showing the vote block again instead of the result block. Kind of irritating and make me want to vote again
