SeeTheGlobe.com is a site where you can compare flight, hotel, car and vacation prices at online booking sites. You are welcome to read travel reviews and blogs. There is also a quality travel video selection. Five percent of profits from the site will go to a charitable instituition that gets most poll votes for that period.

Site built with XOOPS 2.0.7.3.
Multiple modules were used:
News, Contact, Forum, FAQ (About Us), Links, Spotlight, Headlines and Polls. WordPress XOOPS port is the blog. WF Downloads were used (and modified) for the Travel Reviews and Video Catalog sections.

Templates were modified liberally and the theme was created from the default theme with multiple modifications.

I love it! Easy and clean navigation, simple but great looking light theme...it is a joy to stay and read on your website.

One question, if I may.....
Your rewrite of the wfdownloads module into a video catalog ánd a travel reviews module is great. From experience I know 'hacking/rewriting' an excisting module into specific personal modules need is a big job. Since I also need to rewrite this wfdownoads module into the way(s) you did I wonder if it would be possible to download/receive your rewrites of this module. Your rewrites would put me into the right direction in making further personal enhancements.

Good looking site, but perhaps the logo-header needs to be bolder. It looks a bit washed out.

I like contrast.

Thank you for your comments!!! My design philosophy (whether it's right or wrong) is to keep it simple and non intrusive. I have no intention on competing with travel sites with flash animations, bombastic pop ups and cluttered ads ... that gives me a slogan idea - Relax while planning your travels ....

Shine ... My hacks and modifications of the Wf-Downloads are many and messy. Changes were made in the theme style.css, language files, files which grab data from MySQL, forms fields were commented out, template files were modified over and over again, I performed a global replace of wfdownload with wfreviews for example etc. ... Regardless, e-mail me and I can send you the zipped files. Good luck with it ...

Why did you go with wfdownloads for the video catalog? wouldnt wfsections work better? the reason I ask is because I am thinking of modifying wfsections to use for product reviews and maybe wfdownloads is a better place to start from than wfsections...

My main reasons were:
- the structure of wfdownloads coding was easily understood by me which was a big plus
- It had a lot of database fiels I could play with
- nice and simple categorization
- alphabetical listing on main wf-downloads page
- reviews and ratings included
- nice set of templates

Why I did not use wf-sections:
- I did not know about it
- Maybe this is because I started the site a while back and the latest wf-sections features were not released?? no idea
- wfsections look great though ... If I was choosing now I don't really know what I would choose .

Thanks 2headedpuppy for your detailed reply I guess I'll go with wfsections then. I also saw first wfdownloads and tried it, but I guess wfsections should be easier to work with...
