Xoops Koivi Editor is a fully integrable wysiwyg class.
It's crossbrowser compatible, light, with imagemanager integrated and makes XHTML compilant code.

Please help us testing the editor. I have included a sections clone module with Koivi editor installed. You dont need to hack any file just install like a normal module.

All requests will be posponed for next version.

Unfortunately Opera does not understand "designmode=on" which is needed with this editor, so I think a browser switch has to be written to sort out Opera (even in IE mode).

It's not a module, it's a editor which will intergrate into any module.

You will need to modify some directory and files.

It's great, but I'm not sure I want to give my site members this kinda of power to mess up my sites.

I took out Spaw editor for the same reason. Currently on some sites I allow the imagemanger with pre-loaded images.

This just looks like a tool that is too powerful to just put out there and let users rip and snort on my sites.

It might work for me if we had permissions to keep its usage restricted to - admins, trusted members, moderators.

Not trying to rain on the parade, just my thoughts at the moment. I think with restricted permissions it could be a great tool for people that are competent to help maintain sites.

I agree with domineaux.

It is important to restrict functionality of editor for different groups of users.
Actually, frequently i even want to remove an imagemanager button from current standard editor ;)

In some days I'll publish a complete documentation with examples like news, newbb, wfsections e.t.c integration.

If you have some time please test it for bug reporting.

There's also some problem with Safari browser on MAC I have tested. It loaded but the editor text area is not responding.

Very frustrating, fight with Internet Explorer, figth with Gecko and now figth with mac os...

But the problem is that I don't have any Mac for developing or testing.

Hi Mikhail,
I Downloaded the folder. It Contains:

system_imagemanager.html
wysiwyg_sections (folder)

I copy the file in the "modules/system" folder and then I copy the folder in "modules" folder. I don't see the modules in the administration menu. Did I do something wrong?

Just copy "wysiwyg_sections" folder inside your "modules" folder.

If you want imagemanager integration yoou need to change the template with the new.

After that go to administration--modules and install wysiwyg sections.

This module is only for testing the editor. After testing I'll put instructions to use in another modules like news, faq e.t.c

Koivi editor looks very cool, but when
I try to hack comment_form.php to install Koivi editor when posting comments, I am getting blank sceen and no errors. I did similar as described for News 1.2.1.:

1) Added include
include_once XOOPS_ROOT_PATH."/class/wysiwyg/formwysiwygtextarea.php";

2) And change strings

This is a tool I really need.

Some considerations though should be made.

I have been testing spaw for quite a long time.

Most advanced users end up using dreamweaver o frontpages, converting to html copy an paste. Just because there are issues that cannot be managed.

CSS are a good example. I see things different because I cannot use CSS styles using spaw (I should have the ability to apply the Current XOOPS Theme CSS and wysiwyg them on edit mode.

Image management is other issue.

the uploads folder should be the only place to put images. Subfolder creation should possible and be restricted to this folder from within any html editor. A preview of the image is highly recommended.

I think that converting the editor into a module is the best choice. But it should have an Adm. Area for general parameters, and a data base so that it can be configured for each module/user combination.

This is a great job... want help, let me know.
