Re: xComics 2.0 RC1Well, the default message (from image remains property of owner) should do the trick. You might make this module only visible to registered users, and add in your register disclaimer that people who are connected to any of these companies may not register or they break the law...
I think if you use this module for a private website (blog, family, etc...) there won't be any problem. Think ya all smart enough to not use this module on big commercial sites. If ya want to, you might want to first knock on the comic providers door and asking for licences.
I'm using this module on my website from the moment I started developing it, and never had any problems.

Re: xComics 2.0 RC1Yeah, for spanish users this release isn't as nice for them as the previous one, however, this release allows easy editing of the comic.
For example the code for the spanish Baldo:

I'm having a problem actually seeing the comics I've activated. What I am seeing is a red x where the comic is supposed to be, and when I look at the properties of the image, I see that the address is incorrect: file:///'http://www.myurl.org/uploads/xComics/9_to_5.gif///'
I'm sure I'm missing something in the preference settings... probably in the Output IMG field. Can someone please steer me in the right direction?
Also, the "force a dump" setting... is that so the comics can be archived on the server?

Should have added that in news message. Since XOOPS 2.0.7 (only that version) handles slashes incorrectly it won't work in that version. You will have to upgrade your XOOPS version to at least 2.0.7.1.
And indeed, force a dump does force comics to make a local copy if the comic does not do it automaticly. (Like UF & Dilbert)

I'm running the newest version of XOOPS (2.0.7.3), so that's not the culprit.
My settings under preferences are as follows:
Output IMG = <img src=\\\'<{$comic_url}>\\\' alt=\\\'Comic: <{$comic_name}>\\\' />
Force a dump = No (Should this be set to yes?)

Before I installed the new xcomics module, I uninstalled the old comics module, and blew it off the server.
After I installed the new xcomics module, I generated the templates. Before I posted to this forum, I attempted to take out the backslashes from the Output IMG field, but it kept adding a slash between each tag.
Taking your advice, I've uninstalled and re-installed this module on two occasions (generating the templates each time), and still, I'm unable to delete the backslashes from this field. Just to clarify, the backslashes are not there when I first access the preferences, but as soon as I make any changes to that page (ie agree to the terms) it adds the backslashes to the output image.

Re: xComics 2.0 RC1Are you sure you completely upgraded to the lastest version of xoops? Since I can't understand what exactly is happening, it shouldn't happen with XOOPS 2.0.7.3...
You might apply the upgrade packet (2.0.7.x -> 2.0.7.3) again, no harm can be done, and it might help. It's really weird, because the problem you are experiencing, should be fixed in 2.0.7.
If all that doesn't help, please gimme an url to your phpinfo that is located on the server where you are trying to install xComics on. I might have overlooked something...
Re: xComics 2.0 RC1After a LOT of communication, and trying to get it working, easy solution. Re-uploaded include, class and kernel and then re-submitting setting (and removing slashes) fixed problem.
PHP can act so weird...

Trouble getting it running?I'm getting an error about the permission set in the cash for settings.php...
Could use a little help getting this working (not that experienced in this stuff) I set the permissions for both the cash and the settings.php to 777 but that didn't change things.

I have a question/problem. I've tried to add a comic (Peanuts) but it doesn't rotate on a daily basis. I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong... can you give me a hint? This is what I have in the PHP code box:

Could not get any comics... Where are they?...
I love this mod, in 1.5 I was able to add some comics (with a lot of hard work )
