go to modules admin then update your news module
go to blocks and find Recent News scroller block then click at edit then chose your options
tested with XOOPS 2.0.6

However just a couple of thoughts,
The scroller appears to be a little jerky,
is there any way of smoothing this out?
I've tried slowing the speed down to 2 and then 3 which changed the speed ok but didnt reduce the jerks. For some reason increasing the title caractor count seemed to help a little.
Second point is, would it be possible to include the submitted date and/or hit count, with the title on the scroller, if so how?

about the date of news its already added just leave your mouse at the link then will be show the date
i use title to show date instead of alt to work with mozila and ie browser

On another note I wanted to comment on a slight code misstake...
If you look at the blocks template: news_block_new_scroller.html:

You will notice that the marquee is not closed properly. There is a </tr> before the closing </marquee>. Delete that </tr> and the template should be more proper.

I have it scrolling up. I also display each article title as a list item.

How do you get this to work out side of a block?. I want to hard code this into the theme.html. Or how can I add this to the very top of my site in a block?. I guess I will need to add a new block section in theme.html and in admin=>block section. How can I do this?. help please...
