spam registrations

I just reinstalled Xoops V 5.5.6
I keep getting Registrations from a site in korea, it wont stop , set protector settings already but they keep comming.
How can I stop this?

I have completely resolved the spam registration with double recaptcha code in two step.
The registration ending only in second step.
I have modify register.php and include/forms.php of the module profile.

That sounds very good

Did you make it optional, i.e. can the user choose if he wants to captcha on both steps, or only on the second one?

The recaptcha code (or text code) i have set in all two step. User registration is possible only in the last step.
I don't have modify config module to choose where to display security code.
I had many spam users, in this mode now, user spam do not solve the second security code. In the two year in this mode i have 0 spam users.

Is a good idea to choose where apply security code, in first, second or both.

I've committed the code to XOOPS SVN. Please check it out if it works for you.

The Captcha is set permanently after the first step, and you can set in preferences if you want to have Captcha also after the second step.

Once again, thank you for sharing the code with us!

This is just a great example that if everybody contributes something, XOOPS will improve a lot in a very short time!

XOOPS is Open Source, so please keep the contributions coming
