Just try a fresh install and see how it goes.

I have somewhere on my Virtual Box an Ubuntu installation, so I might try there and see if there are any issues.

[EDIT] I just googled for your error, and it looks like you don't have JSON installed on your Ubuntu:
http://slaptijack.com/system-administration/lets-install-json-for-php-5/

The fix seems to be simple, as stated in this message:
Quote:
Just execute this command:
sudo apt-get install php5-json
and restart Apache.

Or, if you have the extension but it's not active, you can just uncomment it in your php.ini in the line
;extension=json.so

by removing the semi-colon

As always, if you are getting errors coming from the Operating System, google for it, because it's possible that somebody had a similar issue and they have a fix for it.

Great Michael, was it lacked the JSON, installed everything right.

There is the possibility to change the language or not this still available?

Thank you very much.

To be honest, I am not sure. I know that there were changes in language engine, but I don't know if the older translations would still work. You can try to copy the XOOPS 2.5.x language files and see if they would work.

If somebody knows for sure, maybe they can respond...

I had already tried this but it did not work.
But this is now secondary, but if anyone knows we are waiting.

Thanks again.

OK, I suppose I should know this

There were a lot of language and locale changes made by the time of 2.6.0 alpha 2, but it was still a work in progress. There are still a lot of things needing attention to qualify as a complete and workable solution. This is a very high priority area for me. However, there are several changes to the core that are ongoing that will make the resulting i18n solution as strong and powerful as it should be. So, once those changes are in complete, you'll see some progress in that area. Until then, it is kind of a mess. Sorry.

Sorry but I can not find the discussion on "What would you like to see in XOOPS 2.6.0," opened by rodney.

I would suggest that it would be appropriate to decide at registrationwith a simple checkbox, whether to receive updates and notifications to registered users.

Instead, for anonymous users to use a newsletter (since the fine work done by Lucio Rota for the module xnewletter)

How do you think?

Here you go:

https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=74058

Not sure how worthwhile it is anymore since many aspects are being updated or replaced.

2 more weeks of school then I will be back coding as well so hopefully I can help Richard move 2.6 forward quicker.

I wonder however if we shouldn't make a pre-alpha 3 thread and start there since this version of xoops is so much different than the alpha 2.

For the same reasons I think having alpha 2 being advertised on login as confusing and we should instead have a "2.6 pre - alpha 3" link pointing to the news page that announced the github and current development.

When? Before or after installation?

Where? Front end? Admin?

I just installed it and had no problems, so let us know when and where do you encounter this error?

Try to re-run Composer Update again....
