Where are the forums?

I used XOOPS back in the day, but I am starting it again and I can not find working forums! I thought it was supposed to come with Newbb.

I tried downloading the ones in the modules section, but they do not work right with my theme.
They work if I change the template set to default, but when I put it on the theme's template set they do not work right.

strangen, Welcome to the XOOPS Forum!

Which theme do you use? Maybe the provided templates in the theme are intended for another version of NewBB (3.08 is the current).
Look for the /modules/newbb/ directory inside your theme directory and compare the templates there with the original from the newbb module and try to adapt them.

that is the theme I modified. All the stuff I modified was in the style.css. Didn't modify anything else.

I am not sure why its not working now, but it was working with the default template set.

I would use the default template set, but it wont let me modify the block templates.

Right, with that theme there are no templates for modules.
So, out of the box it should work OK with the forum (tested here with NewBB 3.08 and XOOPS 2.4.2).

Probably you messed up a template. Set once the debug on in system general preferences. (Check PHP and Smarty debug).
Was the cloning of the templates done without errors?
Are there not red coloured items?

I got it! I reuploaded to template and generated all the files. Works fine now.

PS: In stead of the <br /> in the mainmenu add
td#mainmenu a { display:block; }

to style.css
