I apologize for all the confusion I discovered it is not the version of xoops I am using it is in the theme that is placing custom below module.
Serenity Orange Theme: a great html5 theme that I am loving working with my next step is to figure out wht and how to change it (I am a bigginer)
Thank you all for your help

If anyone is interested in the fix centerzone.html file I changed contents.htm from above center block in the row-fluid zone to below center_right and it seems to work ok now I will do further testing and Ihope this is the fix

<{if $xoBlocks.canvas_left && $xoBlocks.canvas_right}>
<section id="main-content" role="main" class="span6">
<{elseif $xoBlocks.canvas_left}>
<section id="main-content" role="main" class="span9">
<{elseif $xoBlocks.canvas_right}>
<section id="main-content" role="main" class="span9">
<{else}>
<section id="main-content" role="main" class="span12">
<{/if}>
<div class="row-fluid centerzone">

<{includeq file="$theme_name/tpl/centerBlock.html"}>
<{includeq file="$theme_name/tpl/centerLeft.html"}>
<{includeq file="$theme_name/tpl/centerRight.html"}>
<{includeq file="$theme_name/tpl/xoops-contents.html"}>

</div>

</section>

#3 Posted on: 2013/8/19 11:55 Re: position of block
sorry I am not good at explaining in older xoops (XOOPS 2.5.5) the custom blocks are placed above the starting module and if I would place a custom block to appear on a module the custom block was above the module but with this version of xoops (I have three installs using it)
XOOPS Version XOOPS 2.5.6
PHP Version 5.2.17
mySQL Version 5.5.23-55

I cannot find out how to have my custom block appear above the module in the new version of xoops

#4 Posted on: 2013/8/18 14:50 Re: position of block
I understand how to do the custom blocks and the blocks assigned to modules, what I am looking for is when you go to a module classifieds, videos etc for the center block the module that you are visiting is in the top center. How do I change weight for this block since it is not listed under blocks administration. What I am trying to do is be able to add custom blocks and have them viewed above the module instead of after.
Example for the classifieds page I would like to add a custom center block with a special or coupon and when I add them to the page they always are below whatever module page I am on. I guess what I am looking for is where can I assign weight configuration for the main part of a module that is not listed under my blocks admin.
XOOPS Version XOOPS 2.5.6
PHP Version 5.2.17
mySQL Version 5.5.23-55

I am not sure what you mean?
"Visible in" configuration in blocks admin
under blocks admin if I check "modules" classifieds I only see add blocks not the main page. same with any other module I have installed
Am I looking at the wrong place?

I want to be able to make a new block and place it on classifieds pagena dbe able to have it viewed above the classifieds or any other module to do the same.
Another example is to use the start for videos module but be able to make a custom block view it in the center section having it appear above the starting module.

Ok I see the you tube plugin does not work on here either, but bb coide might be turned off.
I cannot find a setting for bb code to be allowed in ApCal and I see that anything on here as well as on the site I built any thing inside of the bb code brackets [] does not show up.
any sugestions?

#9 Posted on: 2013/6/22 7:28 you tube in calendar
I have xoops site built with
XOOPS Version XOOPS 2.5.5
PHP Version 5.2.17
mySQL Version 5.5.23-55
I am trying to use Apcal; I have my system setting to use tinymce for editors in blocks, comments and modules. Every thing works great in most places. When creating category it uses tinymce but when I go to submit event it uses DHTML editor when I use the youtube button this is the code I get

after inserting event the other info is there but nothing about video.
When I use youtube button in tinymce it works great but how can I change event insert in ApCAl to use tinymce editor?

What I am trying to do is put the form right on the page instead of a link to it
