Hi all,

Thanks for all your input. For the time being we have abandoned the chat option. Once there is a module that can deal with permissions, we will test it again.

Anyone contemplating doing this?

David

Thank you all for suggestions.

The use we want to make of the chat module is specifically for the development of a new test site.

We want the chat to be in a block that will appear at the bottom of every page. This is so that the groups doing development can make comments on the design as it is developed. The problem with shoutbox is that only the webmaster group can use it. Other groups can see it but not contribute. Very frustrating!!

I'll have a look at the ajax module and see if that will work.

Thanks for all your help so far.

Re: chat module for xoops

Hi All.

I spoke too soon!

I don't seem to be able to set permissions for groups to access the module.

Webmaster has access, but the module does not show up on the module's permission area for other groups. I can set the permissions in the block access area, but this allows certain groups to see the chat block but not participate in the chat. Very frustrating!

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks,

David

Hi,

We are still having this problem. I went back to smartsection and checked to see if the function worked there, and it did. But regardless of what we try it does not work properly in publisher.

In smartsection one can select more than one group for partial view, in publisher only one is selectable at a time. Even if we make the changes directly in mysql via php admin, say putting in 2;3 the changes are not reflected in the items behaviour.

PLEASE HELP!

Publisher partial view changes not occurring

Hi,

I am having a problem making changes to the partial view access settings for articles in Publisher 1. I make a change to the setting, submit the change, but when I go back to the panel, the change has not occurred.

Any thoughts?

David

Minimum PHP required: 5.2.0 (your version is 5.2.17)
MYSQL minimum version required: 5.0.7 (your version is 5.0.95-community)
Minimum XOOPS required: 2.5.0 (your version is 2.5.5)
Minimum ModuleAdmin required: 1.1 (your version is 1.1)

Give partial view access to these groups

I get the following error message
TCPDF error: Missing or incorrect image file: /home/communic/public_html/modules/publisher/tcpdf/cache/jpgp0aO0b

Re: MyMenus 1.4 RC Ready for Testing on XOOPS 2.5.5 RC

Hi all,

We are not quite ready for usability testing, but sufficiently advanced for you to see how the mymenu modules works on our web site.

We are using xoops 2.5.5 and our server
PHP 5.2.17
MYSQL 5.0.95-community
ModuleAdmin 1.1

The menus are in the right hand side 'dashboard' The ones to look at are 'shop' and 'people'

BTW, as we are still in development stage, any critical comments will be appreciated.

You can email me outside the forum at d.sless@communication.org.au.

The site is at:http://test.communication.org.au

Thanks,

David
