It is a very old problem that I just suffer to present. Whenever I typed in HTML code like '<a>...</a>' in Content & SmartSection module and press "Save" button, the system will return a blank page and the information I just typed did not saved, I have to use phpadmin to type in the information directly thru database level.

I believe this must be a very common problem and most of the XOOPS users must encountered long long time ago. Is there bug fix release that I miss ? Can anyone get me a help to figure this out ?

Any comments and advices is greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot !

Philip Hui

Why XOOPS behave abnormal when include in a frame ?

I am using www.no-ip.com to provide my web site
a dynamic IP address. Recently, I try to use one of
their feature port 80 redirect with mask URL option.

If I just use the redirect feature without mask URL, it
works fine, but the URL will become the dynamic IP address.
So I decided to use mask URL option, when I use this
the XOOPS page display abnormally.

And I asked the support of no-ip.com, they said mask URL
will create a frame and include my web page into the frame.

So can anyone here tell what should I do ?

Philip Hui.

MySQL version 4.1.15
phpMyAdmin version 2.7.0-pl2

Everytime I click to the page(i.e.http://<myhost>/phpMyAdmin),
it will show up the following without asking for login :-

MySQL version 4.1.15 in localhost, login as root@localhost

Hi,

I have installed the phpmyadmin and everytime I go to the page,
it will automatically use 'root' user as default login.
I know that this is very unsecure, since everyone can go into
my MySQL thourgh my URL + /phpmyadmin.

So anyone can tell me how to change setting to prompt for
the login name and password everytime the page is being
visited.

Thanks.

Oh, Really ! Then let me try to remove this command.

B.T.W. Can you tell me why it returns no value for
register_globals ?

Well, I just put the following command in the mainfile.php,
as told by the fornum to display the value of register_globals:-

echo "register_globals = " . ini_get('Register_global');

Hi, I have tried to installed various versions of XOOPS into
my new bought Network Attached System (i.e. NAS), which
has bundled with PHP, Apache and MySQL. I have got all "Green light" passes during the installation, but I got a blank page
after then whenever I load the main page or the admin page.

After I follow the instructions of some of the fornum, I turned
on the debug mode and got the following error message :-
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
IN MAIN PAGE
register_globals =

Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output started at /volume1/web/mainfile.php:41) in /volume1/web/include/common.php on line 28

Any one had tried to installed anykind of open sourced application system like 'XOOPS' into some kind of NAS like
mind (Synology DS-101j) and encountered the similiar situation.

Please send me comments, advices and solutions.

Philip Hui.
