The reason was that Anders and Rune were also a members of another Group, and registered members didn't have a permission in Ext. User Profile to see the profiles of this group. So even if everybody has the right to see profiles of all registered members, if somebody is a member of another group without explicitly allowing others to see the profiles of that group, this overrides the general permit.

Thanks to our friends at XOOPS France (Burning and others), we have a new Installation Guide for XOOPS 2.3.x.

(note : This tutorial gives details about a fresh installation of a XOOPS 2.3 website. It doesn’t cover the updating of an existing XOOPS website.)

You can download it here

I should add that Mamba et-al have been doing a great job of dusting things off around here recently, and I'd hazard a guess that if people wanted things more tidied up, they'd probably find a way to get on with doing it.

I agree with sailjapan..... Mamba et al have been working really hard behind the scenes to get this site up to speed and it's been done with a very positive and focussed attitude that is reflected in the generally positive nature of the site and posts in the Forums. We haven't had an e-fight for months

Thank you guys for the kind words - I am glad to see that the changes we're trying to implement in the "new XOOPS" are being appreciated! There are a lot of people involved in this, including both of you, and we truly appreciate everybody who is coming here to XOOPS and is trying to help: our XOOPS Innovators and XOOPSers of the Month, and all those community members who didn't get their award yet, but are on the way there!!!

Of course, we need more help, especially with upgrading the modules, and the documentation, but little by little we'll get there. XOOPS 2.3 is the starting point where we can finally consolidate our modules, themes, and documentation. Please be patient with us while we're doing the reconstruction!

But you know what? Cancel that! Be VERY IMPATIENT - and JUMP IN and help us making this transition faster! Get involved in testing modules, re-writing documentation, submitting questions and answers to our FAQ, and in making XOOPS up to date. There are still too few of us, and with only 24 hours in a day, it's sometimes overwhelming.

I'm very happy with every XOOPSer who is coming back to XOOPS and getting re-engaged again. It was the best community in the past, and we're on the way to be great again, so please help us in making this happen!!!!

In the end we are all winners - because with your help XOOPS will remain the best CMS out there, and we'll have no need to transition to anything else.

Thank you for your comments! Very much appreciated.

We need to do a better job in letting people know that we do like XOOPS!

XOOPS is like a "best kept secret" and it's time to end it

I'm glad that you found a solution!!

But I agree with you - I wish, that PHP would provide a better debug info than just a blank screen. It's very frustrating when you don't know where to start with the debugging.

Maybe some of our experts could help us with tips on how to address a totally blank screen with no errors, even if debugging is enabled.

You can also try the TPL League Stats, which you can see in action here.

You can also check out a slightly modified version for Soccer World Cup, that seems to work in XOOPS 2.3.1 just fine.

1) _MI_LMO_001

this means that you don't have translated language files for your local configuration. You'll to create your local language (e.g. /language/english) and then copy the files from /language/german to your local language directory and translate them from German.

2) I'm not sure why the image doesn't show, since it's in the /images directory

3) I've installed it on my local server with XOOPS 2.3.1, and have the same problems, i.e. the module creates the same errors as with you.
But according to the description, LMO needs register_globals to be on, which for security purposes, most server don't allow. This might create the problems, but I'm not sure.

If don't get any help here, and are willing to pay, you might try to contact some of the developers listed here

But hopefully some of our local experts will help.

BTW - I've created a quick & dirty English translation, and changed the menu file, so the Admin menu is not hard-coded in German. You can download it here.
