If I have to remove this content module what do you recommend I replace it with?

Well, I found the offending page but see no errors in it. Granted I am no expert in deciphering javascript and php but there are no {if} without an {/if} and non at all located on or about line 79. i looked for an update on the module but cannot find one. Is it no-longer being offered/developed?

I understand now. I updated (recompiled) each module. All updated successfully but did not fix the problem. Although I now know where to look. While watching each module recompile I noticed mpu_ comes from Mastop Publishing. I am using this module cause at the time of initial installation there was an issue with the Content module with the available editors. So, Mastop worked so I used it. I will look for that file and see if I can correct it's output.

I don't know if it is module related. I was in the preferences trying to clone the default template. Always better to work from a clone and leave default alone. I actually had this issue BEFORE the upgrade but NOBODY offered any help/ advice before about fixing it. As a result of this problem with 1 client and my inability to fix this, I have moved away from XOOPS with new clients cause I cannot risk having another problem that gets ignored. I have learned much but not enough. But now, this client wants a blog installed, which will NOT install, I get a blank page. I'm sure the issues are related. I ran the checksum after installation and fixed what I thought were all the errors. At this point I am at a loss.

This page cannot be displayed due to an internal error.

You can provide the following information to the administrators of this site to help them solve the problem:

Error: Smarty error: [in db:mpu_menurelated.block.tpl.html line 79]: syntax error: unclosed tag \{if} (opened line 1). (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 317)

I checked my mainfile.php. Everything is fine. Has not been overwritten but yet I get a blank page when going to http..../upgrade/index.php

Help. I have uploaded all the files cannot run upgrade script.
Actually had this problem when trying to install a module today. Just got a blank page after the attempt. Refresh brought back the module page but the module never completed an install.

So, I thought I'd do an upgrade to fix my bug. Now I am stuck. Really need good advice, quickly.

Everything is white. Lost the whole site. This is a major problem. I need expert help. Anyone?

Checked my version of php via the web and got this message when trying to view whichphp file:
Access denied for user 'apache'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
Do I have some kind of permission problem which is causing me not to see any pages? I do have php 5.1.6

[UPDATE] All fixed now. Ran checksum, replaced all the files that were missing from an full install instead of an upgrade. Then went to upgrade folder and completed the steps.

Ah ha! More complicated than first indicated. I will check those files BEFORE I do the change to see where I may need to tweak . thanks ghia.

Thanks, I was hoping it was that simple but I thought I'd ask before screwing things up.

Have a site: "something.com" with a folder structure of :something.com/htdocs (Xoops). Want to rename the site: somethingelse.com.
How will this affect the installation of XOOPS in the /htdocs/ folder? Just renaming the site via a control panel, not renaming the associated database.

I have checked to forum for an answer and found none and I'm sure this is a simple fix but I don't know where to look. My install 2.3.3 and news module 1.63 works but link colors change for entire site from white/red in existing template to blue/purple for every block not just the news block. Where do I look for a fix. There doesn't seem to be a CSS file in the module unless I just missed it.
